Howdy! On Steam it says that if you have any version after macOS 10.14 it will not run. This happens because Apple no longer makes updates compatible with 32-bit games.
You have two options now
consider downloading macOS 10.14 on a separate APFS volume (I have no clue what this means but Steam recommends it)
Get Windows on your Mac.

The game you want for some free phobias. Jokes aside i probably put more than a hundred hours into the game and im still finding new things. Tho I have to say that this game might not be up to everyones taste (the warning info is there for a good reason lol), it fits such a unique niche in this genre. The one big issue i do have with the game is how unstable it unfortunately runs on the steam deck (15 or less fps).
while this seems unnecessary, please check if you selected the correct version in the download screen, which i would assume since you were talking about zip. files (you cannot open or do anything with zip.files on MacOs)
