Fear & Hunger is a horror dungeon crawler set in the dark and hopeless dungeons of fear and hunger. Four misfortuned adventurers dwell deeper and deeper to the darkness and uncover the secrets this ancient fortress holds inside. The fortress works as an ancient nexus for different planes of existence. The depths are in an eternal turmoil as both old and new gods struggle for power, it’s up to the players to choose their position and stance in all of this.
The game is a hybrid of survival horror and dungeon crawler genres with its influences ranging from Silent Hill to Nethack. There are roguelike elements to the game as well as a heavy foundation of a j-RPG. Fear & Hunger is heavy on atmosphere and ruthless in its difficulty.

The world of Fear & Hunger is VERY dark. THE GAME IS MEANT ONLY FOR MATURE AUDIENCES! Extreme violence and gore are everyday sights in the dungeons and death is one of the easier ways to go in the game. The game has drug and substance abuse, heavy themes ranging from self-mutilation to sexual violence. None of the themes are taken lightly however. They are all part of the world building and there to create the unique atmosphere where the game measures just how far the player is willing to go in order to survive.
Parts of the dungeon layout, events, loot and enemy placements are randomized with few different variations to keep things fresh with subsequent playthroughs. The game is designed with the classic trial and error formula, so you can expect to start the game over and over again. But as long as you learn from your mistakes, you can quickly find yourself at the deeper levels of the dungeon.
The combat in Fear & Hunger is turn-based akin to classic role-playing games, but with a twist of it’s own. You can target individual limbs of your enemies to dismember them strategically and thus maximize your chances for survival. However, just the same, enemies can also cut off the arms and the legs of your playable characters if you are not careful. You need to prepare well for every encounter if you wish to stay alive. But don’t forget that running away from threats is often the best solution as well. There are many ways for survival in Fear & Hunger - You can find better equipment, learn different blood and love magic, fuse characters into each other, pray different gods, talk your way out of battles, meet new party members, snipe enemies from distance, use traps to disable them… and so on. The Idea is to use what you got at your disposal and be creative with it.

there is an way u first have to make an account on steam that can buy the game buy it then u have to change ur region to germany by buying something from the steam store (i just bought something really cheap) and then send that account a family invite to your steam family and login to that account and accept the steam family invite (i live in germany thats how i did it)

I hate to inform you about this, but Fear & Hunger is in danger of being pulled from sale thanks to all the censorship BS courtesy of Collective Shout that's brainwashing credit card companies and PayPal.
it’s not, you can still buy it from steam. Also you can still buy it from here, they simply delisted all the adult games on itch and are going to manually approve them from now on. Still, yeah it might be negatively impacted but I doubt such a popular game will be pulled.

I want to reiterate because I can’t reply to the other dude, that this is not a porn game. Just because a game has sexual themes in it does not mean it’s a porn game. It’s like saying Berserk is Hentai. That would mean every film with a sex scene or that deals with sexual trauma is porn - this is not only untrue it’s also damaging toward the idea of exploring dark themes within media. If you find gratification from the objectively evil acts committed in this game you need help.

Even though the dev has not done this in a long time, back then before F&H got popular he actually sent keys to individuals who requested them so it's kinda his own fault for never making a public statement saying that due to the games popularity he won't give them out anymore.
I'm not from Germany, though I got the game from Steam 2 years ago without any issue.

The discussion is full of people who, upon request from Miro, are letting them know that they purchased the game and would like a Steam copy, since they cannot download the game in their country via Itch.io due to Germany's extremely hamfisted censorship laws — this means, in order for people who have paid for the game to be able to play it, Miro is going above and beyond and supplying German players with a Steam Key for the game.
If you have already purchased and can buy the game, and have it downloaded, then I would say that the person being pathetic here is you, complaining about what other people are doing on the itch page, that the game's creator said to do.

Dude, they literally can't download it legally ( by purchasing it) from itch or steam, if they pay for it here and then ask for a steam key they can play it on steam by going around the policy against purchase. Dude, there is no other way to get the game legitimatly in germany, why do you have to be such an asshole about it? And I even used the comment to give praise to the game. I just want to be able to have everything in one place.
Can’t you just play it via the download? What is so important about playing it from Steam?
No, Fear and Hunger cannot be purchased or otherwise obtained legally through those channels, nor is it downloadable via Itch.io's site in Germany, as a result of F&H being placed on one of the Listes of banned games — specifically, Liste A, which means that it is hidden from any IP that is trying to obtain it via the Steam Store or downloading from Itch.io.
With a game CD Key, these fine folks, who likely have already paid for the game, can enjoy the game without needing to interact with Steam Store, and thus, be able to enjoy the game.
It took me five minutes to figure this out, it takes zero time to not be an asshole, especially when it involves international censorship laws (doubly so when it comes to Germany, they ban or censor basically everything).
